Democratic lawmakers State Administration Declining Government Closure Negotiations as Chief Executive Echoes Warning of Firings

A high-ranking White House advisor has indicated that mass layoffs of federal employees could begin if the chief executive determines that discussions to conclude the federal closure are "absolutely going nowhere|making no progress|stalled completely}."

Kevin Hassett informed CNN that he still saw a possibility that Democrats would back down, but mentioned that the president was "gearing up to act|take action|intervene" if necessary.

Deadlocked Talks

Not any substantial evidence of talks have surfaced between legislative representatives since the president convened with them the previous week. The shutdown commenced on October 1st, after upper chamber Democratic senators voted against a interim budget proposal that would keep federal agencies open through to 21 November.

"They've refused to talk with us," Democratic Senate leader the Senate minority leader stated to the television network, asserting the stalemate could be ended only by further discussions between Trump and the four congressional officials.

Political Claims

The Republican Speaker of the House claimed Democratic lawmakers of being "unserious" in negotiations to end the national closure, while the Democratic representative blamed GOP lawmakers of causing the closure.
